H. Lee Deeds,
Minister of Music

Mayfield Road
Baptist Church is blessed to have Lee Deeds
as Minister of Music. Lee leads the church in song and music with a
modern dash of worshipful chorus grounded in the foundational bedrock of
church music: the hymns. He conducts several musical bodies: the
Sanctuary Choir and Student Choir, the voluntary orchestra on Sunday
mornings, the Sunday evening Praise Team & Band, the various handbell
groups, and of course the congregation in praise and worship. Lee's
passion for his calling to lead the church in music and song in
glorifying our Lord proves consistently the talent the Lord has

Betty Thompson,
Pianist
Betty Thompson serves
as pianist at Mayfield
Road Baptist
Church. She
accompanies the Sanctuary Choir and Student Choir, and she directs our
Young Musicians Children’s Choir. She also plays for all
services. Betty and her husband, Steve, have three children which are
also involved in our Music Ministry. Betty works days as an
investigation technician with the U.S.
Probation office  .
Janice Hairston,
Organist
Janice Hairston serves
as organist at Mayfield
Road Baptist
Church. Janice
and her husband, Tom, are a vital part of the Music Ministry by their
singing in the Sanctuary Choir and playing in the Handbell Choir.
Janice has performed as organist and in various other leadership positions
in churches for almost fifty years. In her life outside church, she
has been administrative assistant to the vice president of Arlington Memorial Hospital
and a music buyer for the Baptist Book Store (now know as Lifeway Christian Stores ).
Mary Handley,
Handbell Director
Mary Handley serves as
Handbell Director at Mayfield
Road Baptist
Church. She and
her family have been part of Mayfield
Road since 1990 and are all heavily involved
in the Music Ministry. Mary, her husband Mark, and their son play in
the orchestra; and Mary sings in the Sanctuary Choir when the orchestra is
at rest. She and her family also serve in the Sunday evening worship
Praise Team & Band. Her full-time job is Project Director with Decision Analyst in
Arlington .
